Today was just one of those days. I actually just called it quits about midway through and took a nap. First it was D2 smearing his poop all over his body and room right before we were due to go meet a friend for lunch (I was supposed to show her how to use the Moby baby wrap today per her request), the ATM at the bank being broken, my car not starting after filling my gas tank while I had my three kids in the back seat, spilling spaghetti all over at the restaurant after my mom bailed us out from the gas station, and then a random person at the restaraunt wanting to take a picture of D3 because she was covered head to toe in a chocolate cupcake. It was an embarrassing day!

Otherwise, things are going fine. My car is still at the gas station. Please don’t tow it away nice gas station attendant! We’ve been spending a lot of time outside. D1 and I are collecting bugs to observe under the microscope once we have enough. D1 and D2 have been rather insolent lately. Yesterday, however, my two boys watched Stargate Atlantis with me. It was so nice to cuddle with them and watch the Atlantis team kill some Wraith. Yeah, I’m a nerd. D3 is saying lots of things though is not walking yet. She can also identify her belly button and my nose now. She just turned 14 months. What a big girl!

I’ve been busy in my three history courses. I just finished a paper about the image of limited good and peasant society. I’m also working on my term paper proposal for my Great War class. Additionally, I am really enjoying my history of science course. That’s definitely a class that all pre-med/science/engineering students could benefit from.

My sister-in-law loves horses and was kind enough to take D1 out horse riding. This is a picture of D1, Jens (D1′s uncle), and Leo the horse. Thank you, aunt Nicki!

I wanted to share with everyone a wonderful blog called Stethoscopes and Sippy Cups. It is about two women who were teen mothers and are now pursuing medicine. One is starting medical school soon, while the other woman has just taken her MCAT. Their stories are truly inspiring!

My mom came over today, and we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese. We had so much fun. D1 was so mature, D2 was a handful, and D3 loved the rides. I can’t wait to go again! D3 kind of looks like the Gerber baby to me in this photo.

I came home one night from work to find both of my boys in the same bed. The other pictures are of D3 about to go to sleep for a nap in our room.

Life has been busy. D1 is getting super good at his letters. D2 is getting better with the potty and is talking a lot more. D3 is saying simple things like, “hi, hello, and I see you.” She also just cut several molars. My husband is officially taking flying lessons. My sister and brother-in-law came to visit for several days from out of state. My brother came home from Europe, and my youngest brother is getting ready to go to Taiwan.

The weather around here has been labile. It is either too hot or it rains. We have still been spending a lot of time outside. The kids love to play in the kiddie pool and the sprinkler. D3 loves the sand box and likes it when I kick the ball around the yard. She giggles so loudly when I do that. I got brave last week and took all three of them for a walk by myself. It went well, and they were very well behaved.

Work has been fine. I’ve been spending a lot of time doing case managment on the floors. It’s good to get out of my comfort zone of the emergency room every once and awhile. I started three new history classes and have been spending a lot of time reading and trying to stay caught up in those courses. For organic chemistry preparation next year, I’ve been going through Khan Academy’s organic chemistry lectures. I’m almost done, and when I’m finished, I’ll post my notes from the videos. The good news is that I watched Hitler Learns Organic Chemistry (a parody), and I understand it now.
