Luminol by fellow ochem student Meghan

This week, we made luminol in the lab. Everyone had success with their products which means that the luminol glowed brightly with a blue-white aura. I have a test in organic chemistry this week on Tuesday and an environment science exam on Wednesday.

My poor boys have been sick again with the flu this week. D1 started vomiting yesterday after having his vision and hearing screening done at the health department for school, and D2 started vomiting while at daycare today. Everyone seems to be feeling better now. Yesterday, before D1 started upchucking everywhere, he got to spend some time in the kindergarten classroom when I dropped off the results of his screening. He had a blast, and it was hard for him to say good-bye. Apparently, D1 does not have any hearing problems even though he does ask, “what? and what did you say?” a lot. The nurse said that he probably just has selective hearing, lol. Typical!

D1 is now obsessed with Minecraft, so there is a lot of talk about creepers (scary monsters) and obtaining wood to build homes in our house lately. Our conversations now sound like, “thank you for hitting the space bar, mommy, so I don’t die.” It’s all kind of funny, and I enjoy playing these kinds of games with him.

I also registered for some of my fall 2012 classes such as biochemistry and molecular genetics! Yay!
